Chibi Attempt #3 (DG 2nd attempt)

Postby Lucas » Thu Mar 22, '12, 1:51 am

I haven’t had too much time for drawing this past month thanks to so many new houses going up which all require painting. There is going to be an even higher demand in the near future thank to the ones which were destroyed during that unfortunate tornado as well.

I did however get a chance to produce something quick and simple a few days ago though. I was mainly focusing on getting my pose right for this one and her fingers. When you compare this one to the first chibi drawing I did of DG she’s come a (very) long way. I decided to leave out her head antenna in this drawing as I made her pigtails to dominant so they would have been barely visible behind them anyway.

Considering the rather distressed and bland mood of my city recently, I felt this drawing was fun too look at, also I created her as a character that loves life and everything that comes with it which just made this drawing even more special to me. Enjoy!

-------
PS: I’ve currently got a sketch of Alpha in progress as well (I’m mainly focussing on character posing at this stage), dunno when I’ll be uploading that at the moment however.

Well, it's good that your work will increase and not suffer due to all this bad weather effects, etc. Atleast there can come some good from all this tragedy. That's a plus!

We have seen similar incidents in so many places over the world during the past few years where folks have had to pick themselves up and re-build again after some kind of weather related tragedy. It's sad and it's tough, and especially heartbreaking when it's close to you, but the spirit of the people to begin anew is especially touching and uplifting to us all.

My best wishes and prayers to all the folks in your area as they begin to re-build their homes and their lives.

Okay, back to DG....very cute here, and I think the reason I love her most is because she is so happy...always smiling, and showing a zest for life, etc.

Terrific job here Lucas!

@ Myau: I basically just specialise in houses, every now and then I do larger buildings such as shopping centres and stuff, and sometimes I do fences but only rarely. I also do plastering as well.

@ SS1: Thank you, I will be busy trust me ; I haven’t had a weekend yet because of this event. At least the clean up around town seems to be going good.

and thank you both for the comments regarding my drawing.

Thanks for the precisions ! To paint house is something I'll never do because I'm suffering for very "high" Vertigo (high isn't correct I presume but in that case...;)) !

@ tilinelson: Your support towards these characters of mine has always been appreciated, thank you very much mate.

@ Myau: It’s all handled relatively safe, the highest I’ve ever had to paint is around three-stories, that was a while ago though. The scaffolding methods we use haven’t failed once in the four years I’ve been a painter. ;)
