Voyager

The Voyager 1 and 2 space crafts may soon be leaving our solar system:

An interesting subject and wait to see what exactly happens with these two spacecraft.

For some reason this makes me think of "Star Trek". Wasn't it the Voyager spacecraft that was mentioned in the first big "Star Trek" film??? Or was that another spacecraft??

I'm surprised to learn we're still receiving data from the Voyager probes. Outside of a few fiction references, I hadn't heard of them in ages. I figured they had broken down long ago.

One of the Voyagers did show up in the first Star Trek movie, though I don't recall which one it was offhand.

Fascinating to still be talking about these space crafts after all these years. And, yeah, it makes me want to want the first "Star Trek" movie all over again.
