 Post subject: more Tylenol recalls

Tylenol has another recall on some of it's products:

Just started a new thread on this. If anyone is interested they can go back and find the old thread on the other previous recalls.

Speaking of past recalls, I just called them yesterday and got a refund for some Tylenol that I had which was recalled earlier this year. I had almost forgotten about it!

If they keep this up, the government may have to step in over public health concerns. It's a shame that Tylenol's respected brand name is being slighted with all these incidents.

Yes, there is another Tylenol recall:

http://smartabouthealth.net/drugs/2010/ ... s-concern/

This is getting a little ridiculous with all these Tylenol related recalls lately. This one even more so as the way I understand it, this recall is only because some information was not put on the front of the labels.

I am really getting frustrated with this because Tylenol is the main brand of pain reliever that I use, however, I am seriously thinking of switching to another brand.

What brand of pain reliever does everyone here use? Is it better than Tylenol???

Susan uses Tylenol for Kids. Whenever I have headaches (which is not often), I take a medicine called "Novalgina".

It seems kind of silly to recall medicine over an omission of alcohol on the labels, but I suppose it presents a potential health risk to someone. It's cheaper for the company to recall the bottles than to face a lawsuit. Also more responsible, since there is no other way to make sure these don't get to someone who shouldn't take them.

Personally I've always used Tylenol, but some people I know swear by Advil and say it works better.

Updating this topic....more Tylenol recalls:

Also some Sudafed and Rolaids in this recall, I think.

So many recalls, this is beginning to sound like a broken record.

Didn't check out the links, because I'm too lazy to read any articles right now, but what's the story behind the recalls?

The short version is that the packaging is contaminated in some way. People were reporting that there was a mold smell coming from the bottles. There was also some problem with the labels in that last batch.

Updating this story once again.

Yes, there is yet another Tylenol recall.

This time it's for Tylenol Extra Strength caplets, and also due to the moldy smell, etc.:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43570716/ns ... ?gt1=43001

At this point, I really don't even see how this company and product are managing to keep afloat, if you know what I mean. So many recalls in the past year or so. It is beginning to have an effect. For example, I have always used Tylenol and nothing else, but recently when I went to the store to get some pain pills, I could not find Tylenol regular strength pills at all. They did have some extra-strength pills, but I won't take the extra strength unless I'm really in a lot of pain because they usually are so powerful they knock me out. I have been quite happy with the regular strength. I finally had to buy another brand of pain reliever because I couldn't find my usual Tylenol brand, and the shelves were obviously empty where most of the Tylenol products should be.

Anyone else seeing that type of situation where you can't find this product at the stores in your area??
