She rolled her eyes. If you want the locustas to be picking your bones clean, that's fine, but I'm not gonna allow that. "Good, because that's what you're getting- a clean bed," she told him. The green-haired hunter dragged Sane down one of Nalya's main streets, eventually coming to a large building marked with a battered iron plate:

The IRON BIT
Est. AW 2176
25 MST/night
120 MST/week

"Hey!" Soma called out as she and Sane entered the inn's common room. "This guy's in bad shape, he needs a place to rest."

As the two entered into the inn Sane tensed up. He scanned the room with his eyes glad to see no familiar faces and relaxed. Looking towards the owner of The Iron Bit, Sane felt like laughing when he saw who was working.

"Well now, this is a new one isn't it? What'd he do to get ye to drag 'im in here huh? Yer the third one this week!" The voice came from a big, yet gentle looking old man. Sane finally laughed, "You must be seeing things again old man. And she's only the second one this month." The old man laughed, "Ye remind me of myself there Sane. Always a lady on my arm, living life to the fullest and enjoying every minute of it."

Sane laughed, "Can I use a bed awhile Sid? I had a... well, accident." Sid laughed, "Ye know the rules Sane, Ye can't stay if ye can't pay."

Soma wasn't exactly used to being compared to ladies of the evening- she wasn't sure whether Sane or Sid was more right, and based on their conversation, she honestly felt like just dropping Sane to the floor and telling the old innkeeper "He's your mess now, old man!!"

Instead, she replied, "It's on me, uh, Sid. And all he had to do was... well, that's a story for later. Can you make change for this?"

The old man happily received one of Soma's coins, handing her back several smaller coins as he said "Anything for you, beautiful. So what exactly happened to Sane?"

"Not sure... he said something about needing his friend Riley. You don't happen to know where he lives, do you?"

"Now listen here little Missy. Ol' Riley isn't a name you should be saying carefree like that. And you Sane. I thought I told ye not to associate with the likes of him." Sid said with a grim expression, all cheeriness seemingly gone.

Sane's face turn serious as well. "I know what you're thinking Sid. I can tell you why I need him, but not in front of this person."

"I'll tell her Sane, but only cause I trust you. I don't trust him."

"I know."

"Riley can be found at the east side of town. I don't know where exactly, but be careful, speaking his name over there is taboo. You look like you can handle your own though, judging by your equipment."

"Ha... you're damn right I can handle my own!" Soma replied, grinning. "I'll be back before you know it. But first... I'm gonna need a hand dragging Sane upstairs."

Sid's daughter helped Soma, blushing as she took his free side. Together, they lifted Sane up the stairs to the second floor, tucking him into one of the available beds. Once the dark-haired woman had left the room, Soma turned to Sane. "So..." she started. "I shouldn't be more than an hour. I'll go find your friend, he'll help me get you back home, problem solved."

She then took one of the gold 500-Meseta coins she had given from Sane, then brought it to her lips for a second. Returning the coin, which now bore a perfect imprint of her lipstick, Soma continued, "Rest up- I'll be back before you know it!"

When Sane received the coin back he was confused. Just what was going on through the Hunter's mind? Was she pitying him? Did she like him? Was she toying with him? He didn't know anymore.

So he simply sat back and watched as Soma left the room, leaving him to his thoughts.

She could just leave him to his own devices- the bed at the Iron Bit was apparently familiar enough to Sane, and given the conversation the two had shared, well-used as well.

But Soma knew she couldn't do that to him- while she was angry with Sane for basically ruining her morning, stealing her money and a kiss, and taking her about a quarter of the way across Motavia, she was concerned for his well-being.

First things first, though, she decided as she walked through Nalya's streets, These knives are getting worn and dull. Gotta go find an armory, then Riley's place.

[RILEY]
Ryan Spires walked throughout the streets of Nalya. looking at every face around him. Nothing seemed to catch his eye. He had some new merchandise available but it would have been too easy to sell. He missed the challenge from years ago, when he had to try hard to sell things. But now all he had to do was smile, and he'd be walking away with cash. Sighing Ryan sat on a stone bench, watching the crowd pass him by, all of them glancing at his unusual clothing style. Dressed from head to toe in white, the tall man looked flamboyant and harmless, but in reality it was quite the opposite. He noticed a group of girls giggling and looking at him from across the street. It was all too easy.

Smiling to himself, Ryan starting whistling an ominous tune, just adding more strange glances his way.

The next half hour was spent at an armory- Soma had exchanged her battered leather equipment for a sturdier suit of carbonfiber armor and crown, and parted with her daggers. The two-handed steel sword she traded for made her smile- she had recalled that her sister had an eye for swords.

But it's been about ten years, Soma thought as she entered Nalya's park. Despite the somewhat heavy industrialization the city had experienced over the past decade, the park still managed to stay green and vibrant. Where in Algo did you go?

[Sane]
A half hour had already passed since Soma left. Go figure Sane thought while stared at the ceiling. He closed his fist, feeling his body coming back into control. [i]Not quite there yet, probably another twenty minutes then I can walk. Might need support though. Then I'll go find Riley.[/b]

[Riley]
"There he is boss!" A rugged teen said aloud. Riley glanced towards the noise, noticing a finger being pointed at him. "He's the one that beat us!" "A single guy? HAHAHA You are pathetic!" A massive man said, cracking his fingers, "Hey you, I'll give you a word of advice. This is our territory. Get out or get beat!"

Riley looked at this man, noticing half a dozen men behind him, holding baseball bats, iron pipes, and wooden swords. "I don't see your name on it," Riley said without hesitation, "But it is about time I get some exercise."

With that said, Riley stood up, punching the big guy in the gut with left, following up with his right, into the temple of of the brute. The large man fell down to the ground, his followers stunned. They looked at Riley with new determination. Charging at the the white knight of Nalya.
