Anime

Drawn or CGI, animated movies and shows fit well with the gaming crowd.

Sailor Moon, wow, that's a name I haven't heard in ages. It used to be a really big thing, but now I never hear anything about it. I'm surprised one of these channels showing anime hasn't picked it up for another run.

What does everyone think of "Big O"? I often see it compared to Batman: The Animated Series, which is one of my favorite shows. I only caught a few parts of Big O and didn't see much of a connection, but maybe I just didn't see enough of it?

Never did see Big O or Big O II. Did you ever see the Evangelion series?

Not seen either of those 2 shows, Evangelion didn't catch my attention long enough.
Everything has a pattern. Something set. Even random things. They aren't random at all, its complex mathematics. The trick is to find the pattern. Then you can exploit it.

People think things have a certain end. Taxes. Work. Due dates don't really exist. Trust me. When you put a band of world scholars in the same room, and set them on talking about anything, the most interesting topics come up. The existence of negative time. The probability of "random occurrence". The government's involvement in the media. And falsified due dates. They aren't real, trust me....

The only thing I think they have in common is a broody main character who always wears black, has a butler, and a lot of money. But that's where the similarities end, as the main guy has a giant robot that he uses to fight other large...things. :D Big O was alright, but I never bothered to watch much of it.

Evangelion, was that the series that involves a giant robot? I think that I've only seen a tiny little bit of it, but not enough to say that I know much about it. Then again, I may be thinking of something else.

So I didn't miss anything after all. :D The robot part didn't work much for me in the episodes I saw. Giant robots in a broken down city... there shouldn't be a city left, after the few fights I saw.

I saw a little bit of it when it was on TV. I got the impression that they were editing a lot of it out, so I didn't watch the whole series.

I'm replying to a nearly two year old post... oh well.

Cartoon Network masacred Evangelion. Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the best anime series ever. I own all of the DVD's and have marathoned the series several times. But, the Adult Swim edit was just unbearable to watch.

Also, don't think the series is the end either. ADV Films didn't win the liscensing rights to the movies, "Death & Rebirth" and "End of Evangelion, so they're existence is rarely mentioned. Manga Entertainment holds the liscenses still, but only did a single release of the movies a few years ago. Don't bother with Death & Rebirth, it only recaps the series with odd little intermissions depicting an odd little orchestra practice that took place at Shenji's school just prior to the end of the series.

End of Evangelion picks right up where the series left off at. Just be forewarned that it is the second most mind-blowing anime movie I've ever seen. And also one of the most disturbingly violent anime movies.

A reboot of Evangelion is presently being released in Japan as a four part theatrical release. Parts 1 & 2 have already shown if I'm not mistaken.
