7 Up, the soft drink, is changing it's taste:

Hopes are that this change will improve 7 Up's standings in the cola wars, etc.

Didn't Coca cola change their formula several years ago, and it turned out to be such a disaster that after much demand from consumers they brought the old formula coke back?

In the words of the character/boxer "Apollo" from the "Rocky" movies, "Some people got to learn the hard way." Just my :2c: .

Comments or Opinions?

I think it's a bad idea honestly, but I always did prefer Sprite, so maybe it is a good idea.

Come to think of it, I can't remember when I last had one. It seems to have disappeared around here, though I also prefer sprite, so no biggy really.

Changing taste is always a gamble. Some drinks have changed their taste and never changed back. RC Cola did that, as I recall. Coke of course failed big time when they tried it. It may work for 7 Up, it may not... at the very least, it gets them a little bit of news time for changing and maybe a bit more for eventually changing back or launching 7 Up Classic.

Yeah, I suppose you are right there.

I have to agree with some of the posters above who say they prefer Sprite. I like Sprite better than 7 Up also. For some reason 7 Up always seems to give me a headache when I drink it. I would consider giving the new 7 Up a try however.

Both Sprite and 7-up were things I loved as a kid, and now can't stand. I feel like I am chugging back a factories worth of pure sweetness whenever I drink it now.

This thread prompted me to hook up my Genesis and play "Cool Spot."
