A two headed turtle was recently found on a beach in South Carolina in the USA! It was a small turtle and later released back into the waters.

This is interesting, but typically occurs due to pollution in the water that the turtles live in. The skin of reptiles and amphibians is very permeable and easily take in environmental pollutants that can cause genetic mutations and defects. This indicates that there might be some nasty stuff in the water.

Seems like these two-headed turtles are not that rare after all. Another one was just discovered in the US State of North Carolina, which is right next door so to speak to the State of South Carolina where the other two-headed turtle mentioned in the first post above was found.

Reading what Wolf Bird said above about the nasty water makes you kind of think about this and that area a bit.
