How much would you spend for a cup of Coffee?

Would you spend $12 for a cup of Coffee?

I think that is absolutely ridiculous, but Coffee seems to be the " in " thing these days and some people would pay that without blinking an eye, I guess.

I'd be tempted to try it for the hype alone, but I wouldn't pay that kind of money. I'd probably ask to sample it first! And if it was really, really good, I'd inquire about happy hour.

Where I live, coffee isn't the "in" thing, it's part of the city. There's worldwide-known indie coffee roasters in my area, so I buy local. I don't need to go to NYC for a really good cup o'joe.

Lots of things are more expensive in NYC, just because there are so many people packed into such a small place. It creates a lot of demand. Still, I think even some New Yorkers would balk at a coffee this expensive.
