No matter what goes on, yeah, someone will say it's unfair and I think both sides have a good case, unfortunately. I think this battle will go on for a good amount of time, especially if Pennsylvania doesn't settle things (and that is unlikely.)

It seems Obama's campaign people are not too fond of a mail-in vote:

I fully understand and share their concerns. I don't see how this could possibly work and be done right. I think there would be more lawsuits and just a bunch of time wasted doing this.

Hm, they're talking there about mailing ballots to every voter, even those serving overseas. I imagine that will take a long time, just to get the ballots out and back through the mail. They say this will be more cost effective, but I don't see how. They'll have to spend millions on just the postage, probably.

I haven't heard too much news today, but the last I heard on this subject was that Florida had decided that it probably not do a re-vote, or atleast a mail in vote now for reasons I'm not sure of.

Also, last I heard was that Michigan had almost decided to do a re-vote sometime in June, I think it was with the Democratic party paying the cost, I think is how it was said. That sounds like a good idea to me, if they do a re-vote of any kind.

I still think they ought to let the votes stand as they are and give the delegates to whoever won them in the first go around. However, if they do a re-vote, then I think the only logical and correct way to do it would be to have another election in both states on another day with voters going to the polls to vote. If the voters are interested in who wins this race, and having their votes count, then they would surely turn out in force. I heard some voters may not have voted the first go round because they heard their votes would not count due to the states moving up their election dates. So, this seems the only way to go, in my opinion.

And, why not let the Democratic Party pay for it. Sure, it will be costly, but the way Obama and Clinton are raking in the dough, surely the whole Democratic Party can afford it somehow or other. Even though if you go by rules, the rules were broken and just didn't seem to work with the punishment of moving the election days up. It might have worked in any other election, but this one is just too close.

Also, I heard there were other states that broke these election day rules and moved their elections up, but they asked for a pardon, of sorts, and got it. So why didn't that happen in Michigan and Florida, I wonder. Guess I need to try to find that out too, lol.

And, I just read that Hillary Clinton supports a re-vote in Michigan in June.

What does everyone else think about having new elections in these two states, etc.?

Today I read that they have almost decided not to do a revote in Michigan.

I wish they would make up their minds about this, and get it done already! :grumpy:

If I am this frustrated about this dilly dallying, I can only imagine how the voters of Michigan and Florida must feel about this whole mess.

Well, the Democratic National Convention members met yesterday (all day long almost) to decide what to do with the delegates in Michigan and Florida. They finally came to a decision to seat the delegates, but to only let them count a half each, I think it was.

So, Obama and Clinton both wound up with a few more delegate votes. I'm not sure Clinton's side is very happy with this, as they believe since she won both states in the original primary's that she should have gotten more, or all, the delegates in both states. What will be, will be, though, I guess.

This puts Obama a little bit closer to reached the delegate vote number, and Clinton is closer, but still almost unreachable.

We'll see how it goes from here. :yaknow:

Did anyone else read about the Democratic Convention party, etc., restoring ALL the voting priviledges to both Michigan and Florida right before the DNC began, I think it was.

On one hand, this is great and they should have been allowed to vote. On the other hand, it stunk the way they waited til the end to do this. It could have mattered a lot more earlier.

There will still be problems in the future over how this whole mess has been handled. Mark my words. :fiery:

Huh, all that stink to get the votes to count, and then in the end it doesn't matter because no one was allowed to vote at all. It's kind of sad.
