It isn't a very flattering picture, is it? Shatner looks like a tomato almost.

So, they started filming the new movie yesterday, from what I've heard. Shatner's apparently out of the picture on this one. From one interview I read with him, it sounds like they didn't even ask him to be in the movie.

That's sad and a bit disrespectful, if you ask me, especially after all he has done for Star Trek and to help make it what it is today. He deserves better than that. Then again, maybe he didn't want to be part of it any way. Touche'.

Actually, from the interview I mentioned, it sounded like he really wanted to be in the movie and was disappointed to be left out. There was a good quote that went something like "I was there when it began, I'd have liked to be there when it began again." Nimoy is in it, so they should have been able to find some way to include Shatner too.

Well, it seems like the release of the next movie has been pushed back. It was originally slated for Christmas this year, but now they've moved it to May of next year. I guess they realized that it had better money making potential as a spring/summer flick.

Here's some news about a new "Star Trek " comic book. It picks up where the original series left off. Sounds interesting, although, that is a hefty price for a comic book ($3.99), but then again it's been a good while since I bought one, so maybe that's the rate these days, lol.

Yeah, that's about the standard price now. Some go for 2.99, but 3.99 is a common price. I've never been much of one for Star Trek comics, but it's interesting that this is going to be written by someone who wrote for the series. It might be pretty good.
