Sen. Barack Obama stated last night in his speech following the South Dakota and Montana primary's that he was the Democratic Nominee for President.
Well, he may be right, but I don't think there has been any official word yet from anyone else. Although, it's probably just a matter of time.
Senator Clinton has not thrown in the towel yet, although it remains to be seen exactly what course she may take from now on. The Primary's are over now, so the next thing is the Democratic Convention about August sometime, I think. Barring any other confrontations that may arise.
Will Sen. Obama pick Sen. Clinton to be his Vice-Presidential running mate? That remains to be seen. Some say "yes", some say "no". Clinton says she is open to the idea. I think if offered it, she would accept it. And, given that she has more of the popular vote (people's vote) that Sen. Obama and that she won in several of the States like Ohio, California, etc., that the Dems need on their side to win in the General election, it seems appropriate that she be asked, but we'll see what happens.
Whatever happens in the future, as of now, Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton seem to be singing each other's praises and talking about uniting somehow to make sure the Democratic Party wins this election.
But, will that happen???????????????? Can they beat McCain ????????

I guess Obama finally got enough delegates to claim the nomination, huh? I'm not surprised that Clinton is still hanging on. I'll say one thing for her, she doesn't give up easily.
