Although Mother Brain rules Algo, the Commander is the leader of the Motavia branch of the Palman military. He is charged with implementing Mother Brain's plans and programs on Motavia. Even though he viewed Mother Brain as infallible, he could not abide the growing number of biomonsters running rampant on the planet. He charged Rolf with finding the cause of the monster outbreak.
